SECURITY ALERT: New exploit follows 10.10.5 patch

Recent exploit patched…

Apple released one of the final updates to Yosemite, 10.10.5, at the end of last week. This update includes a patch for the DYLD_PRINT_TO_FILE exploit recently reported, which could give hackers superuser access to your Mac. If you have not done so already, please make sure your Mac is on 10.10.5.

But, a new exploit discovered.

On the heels of this update, however, comes news of another root level exploit not addressed in the 10.10.5 update. Similarly, the researcher involved did not notify Apple prior to public release. This puts pressure on Apple to respond quickly — but leaves consumers in a woeful position. Read more about the exploit.

El Capitan improvements?

The AppleInsider article references root sandboxing expected in the new release. Definitely confidence building. The beta of El Capitan was was not vulnerable to these two latest headlining exploits.
